<\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><b>The situation on the island: <\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to local associations, more than <\/span><b>300,000 dogs and cats are strays<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the island. The number of stray animals is such that the majority of the animals in Reunion Island are euthanized after three days, whereas the legal time limit for impounding animals in France is 8 days. More <\/span><b>1,000 euthanasias<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are performed each month. <\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the only solution would be to launch a global plan of sterilization, the associations, according to their means, realize an extremely difficult work and are in a <strong>state of <\/strong><\/span><b>saturation.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In Reunion Island, there are 3 stray animals per inhabitant. Unfortunately, the number of potential adopters on the island does not allow us to find homes for all the animals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In parallel, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>biodiversity and marine life are impacted<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by many factors such as pollution, global warming and erosion. In order to combat these phenomena, it is necessary to create projects that meet the challenges, in collaboration with local associations.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Project set-up: <\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In June 2022, the YouCare team went to Reunion Island with the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ultrapremiumdirect.com\/?kwkuniv=P4FCFD5759D3100-ccp4fcfd5759d31d1&utm_source=Kwanko&utm_medium=display_affiliation&utm_content=YouCare&utm_term=481747\">Ultra Premium Direct<\/a> teams<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to this trip, financed by the 1% For Animals Label, we were able to meet with local associations in order to create a long-term partnership and to carry out various animal and biodiversity protection missions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">– Rescue and repatriation of dogs: Association <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/assosauvetonbourbonetcie\">Sauve ton Bourdon<\/a> and Association <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/associationZOOM\/\">Zoom<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">– Sterilization campaign: Sauve ton Bourdon, Zoom and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Espoir-R%C3%A9union-1488673938095681\/\">Espoir R\u00e9union<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">– Logistical and material support: Sauve ton Bourdon, Zoom and Espoir R\u00e9union<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">– Protection of beaches against erosion and protection of nesting sites for marine turtles: <a href=\"https:\/\/cedtm-asso.org\/vegetation\/\">CEDTM<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">– Fight against coastal pollution and protection of marine life : <a href=\"https:\/\/propreunion.com\/\">PropR\u00e9union<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rescues and repatriations will be led by the YouCare Association team as part of the 1% For Animals New Life Program.
